It is easy enough to convert between SPDIF and AES3.
But AES3 has additional jitter requirements for RX and TX.
I have used SPDIF interfaces on other ICs that specify AES3 compatibility/"professional" standards (vs. "consumer" for SPDIF).
I can't find any info on this, at least for the iMX93.
