Hi

I am running Android P9.0.0_2.2.0 on IMX6QP Sabre SD Board.

I have set the U-Boot environment following the Android Quick User Guide:

U-Boot > setenv bootargs console=ttymxc0,115200 androidboot.console=ttymxc0 consoleblank=0
vmalloc=128M init=/init video=mxcfb0:dev=ldb,fbpix=RGB32,bpp=32 video=mxcfb1:dev=hdmi,
1920x1080M@60,bpp=32 video=mxcfb2:off video=mxcfb3:off androidboot.hardware=freescale
cma=320M galcore.contiguousSize=33554432 loop.max_part=7
U-Boot > saveenv

The IMX6QP Sabre SD Board boot into Android 9.0.0 with cloned contents on both LVDS and HDMI screen.

I would like to find out, for the uboot set environment argument that i use, Is the set environment argument set to clone display mode? or is it able to play different content on each screen?

Hello,

According to the Android Release notes for the Android release 9.0.0_2.2. The i.MX6Q is only able to play mirrored images in different displays(LVDS+HDMI). The BSP is not capable of play different content for each screen.

I apologize for the inconvenience this could give you.

Best regards,

Diego

Hi Diego,

Thank you very much for your swift advise.

It is good enough to know that Android 9.0.0_2.2. is only able to do mirror images so that I don’t continue looking for possible solution at the wrong place.

Does earlier Android release able to play different image on different display?

I ask this because I can stop looking at android/linux release, and perhaps start looking at Gstreamer or Presentation API solution.

Once again, please have my appreciation on your advice. Have a nice week ahead!

Best regard

Hello,

Is possible to reproduce a video on two different screens using Linux and Gstreamer. Please see the following document. Hopefully, it could be useful to you.
