Hi NXP

About DY1212W-4856 - NXP Semiconductors

A customer purchased an iMX 93 EVK, and received a report that the LVDS Panel purchased together does not turn on.
Please answer if the image downloaded at the factory with Out of Box Demo is also outputting LVDS.
I'm asking because I think it takes a long time to download a new version of Linux 6.1.22_2.0.0 and try to make an image and test it.

If any of DISPLAY interface is not activated by default of Out of box demo or New SDK release,

Please let us know how to activate LVDS output along with i.MX 93 EVK.

Thanks.

Regards,

ADAM

Hi @JK_Cha

I hope you are doing well.

default device tree imx93-11x11-evk.dtb does not support LVDS display.

The customer can change the device tree blob to imx93-11x11-evk-boe-wxga-lvds-panel in u-boot cmd as below for LVDS display.
=> setenv fdtfile imx93-11x11-evk-boe-wxga-lvds-panel.dtb
=> saveenv
=> reset

I hope it helps!

Thanks & Regards,

Any luck on this?  I tried both the pre-built and a microSD - wic and my LVDS still not working. Do you have any image for how to connect the connector at the back?

just wanted to be sure I did not mess up my connection.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi

Subject changed. adding DY1212W-4856 LVDS panel part number.

Please let us know if DY1212W-4856 could be activated on top of LINUX SDK 6.1.1_1.0.0 or 6.1.22_2.0.0.

A customer bought this LVDS module from nxp.com. But it does not work with Out of Box Pre-built image programmed on i.MX 93 EVK.

Thanks.

Hi

I just wanted to confirm that this solution worked for me.

What seems to not be working is the touchpanel (the ability to use the DY1212W-4856 as touchpanel.

Is this supposed to work out of the box? (I do see the screen with the terminal to the left and the time to the right)

Hi

This.

Has anyone figured out how to enable the touch functionality?

The panel I received had the touch panel pins in the harness pinned incorrectly.

i2C SDA and SCL were flipped and the reset and ground pins were flipped.

Once I corrected the pinout, the touch panel is working as expected for me.

I followed the test point labels on the Touch flex PCB vs the EVK pinout and found the mistake.

Could you share the touch flex PCB pinout? Cannot find it

The only place I was able to find the pinout for the the TP Flex was on the flex itself, hiding under the masking tape used to hold it down.

J702 (LVDS) on the reference board is in the published schematics.  Check continuity to find the errors.

As I mentioned, out of the 6 pins for the TP, 4 were wrong.  Once corrected the TP controller is recognized and worked as expected.

Hi Sanket.

I confirmed the prebuilt-binary programmed into eMMC works fine with MIPI-DSI output.

And also the latest 6.1.22 based image works with SD card too.

However the customer still could not see the linux screen from their LVDS screen. The backlight was not turned on at all.

Can you check if JP701 BLT Connector is also needed to connect with LVDS?

I could not see the JP101 connected with LVDS from below figure.

Hi Sanket.

Thanks for your kind reply.

As Customer tried the same setup as decribed at Quick start guide.

LVDS does not turn on at all.

Is there any other instruction to output LVDS  with out-of-box image?

Hello @JK_Cha,

I hope you are doing well.

The pre-built image should work actually as described in the quick start guide of the i.MX93.

Please refer to this document.
https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=IMX93EVKQSG

->One can find detailed information about SETTING UP THE SYSTEM(step 3 Connect LVDS panel Display) in the GETTING STARTED Section.

I hope it will be helpful.

Thanks & Regards,
Sanket Parekh
