DDR2 or DDR3

Hi,

I'm working on the video recorder based on i.MX53 QSB and I would like to know what is the performance difference between DDR2 and DDR3 memories.

I will use the VPU for compression to MJPEG or H264. The QSB uses DDR3, but I would like to use LPDDR2. Is that possible for the video operations?

Hello,Karel,

     Memory controller in I.MX53 supports LPDDR2, some customers have designed their solutions successfully, For system application, like VPU applications, there are no direct relations with DDR3 or LPDDR2.

     So your requirement is no problem.
