Current Capacity of LDO3 : BD71847 PMIC for iMX8M Mini

Hello,

I am working on one custom SOM board design using nxp processor iMX8M mini MIMX8MM6DVTLZAA. Reference EVK (8MMINID4-CPU) used BD71847 PMIC for power topology. I have below query.

1. LDO#3 having output 1.8V @300mA max. but power rails defined in datasheet (table: 13 , max. supply current)  VDD_ANA0_1P8,VDD_ANA1_1P8, VDD_ARM_PLL_1P8 , VDD_24M_XTAL_1P8  having total required current 250mA + 100mA = 350mA , defined 300mA in EVK which is exceed output current capacity of LDO#3. Please clarify power requirement.

2. How to know required current for power rail NVCC_SD2, VDD_MIPI_1V2,VDD_MIPI_0V9 as no information given in datasheet?

Hi Ritul

 

1.  Table: 13  max. supply current provides data with margin, using special tests,

Table: 13 currents can not be reached in real customer applications.

2. can be found in Table 41. MIPI PHY worst power dissipation, formula in Table 13

Imax = N x C x V x (0.5 x F)
