Hello,

As far as I know,

The core frequency of iMX8M Plus is changed automatically by temperature from 1.8 GHz to 1.2 GHz.

Could you let me know the temperature range for each core frequency of 1.8GHz, 1.6GHz and 1.2GHz?

and Which document do I get the information with?

Thank you.

BR

The thermal driver will monitor the SoC's temperature in a certain frequency to protect the SoC. It defines
three trip points: critical, hot, and active.
When reaching passive point, cooling device will lower CPU frequency and notify GPU/VPU to run at a lower frequency.
Details you can see the Thermal section in the i.MX_Reference_Manual.

Hello,

Thank you for your comment.

When I took a look at IMX8M Plus Reference Manual,  there are three temperature threshold register as below on it.

Immediate temperature threshold : TMHTITR

Average temperature threshold : TMHTATR

Average temperature threhold : TMHTACTR

However, there is no specific definition about the relation of core frequency change and the temperature threshold on IMX8M Plus Reference Manual.

Could you let me know where could I find the description between the temperature and core frequency as followings?

Core Frequency is 1.8GHz :  When Temperature range is under xx ℃

Core Frequency is 1.6GHz : When Temperature range is between xx ℃  and xx ℃

Core Frequency is 1.2GHz : When Temperature range is over xx ℃

Best regards

Andy
