Hi team,

I am using Imx8-Mini controller in my application and want to configure the external PMIC for Normal Power mode transition ON to Off by button. But I could not able to find the descriptive way to do that.

Can you propose the solution for it?

Hi @Chavira

We have used the same schematic and connections. And also used provided dts file by NXP.

But still i could not able to get interrupt on IRQ line.

As per the attached image I want to use Normal ON/OFF by button Power Mode when the configuration of PMIC is externel so that I could able to get interrupt on IRQ.

Can you provide me steps how to get POWER On/Off short press and long press interrupt. Currently after long press board is turned off.

Hi @AMBh !

You can base your schematic using our design.

I recommend checking the PMIC signals with an oscilloscope to see what is wrong, I think the root cause could be your design and not the software.

We don´t have step by step manual but the schematic is enough to understand the signals and how are connected.

Sorry for the mistake!

Best Regards!

Hi,

Schematics are base on NXP eval board only.

I could not able to understand how to enable interrupt so that I would get interrupt on PMIC_nINT line.

Is any guidelines for that?

Hi @AMBh!

Sorry, we don't have any documents.

The PMIC_ON_REQ is generated by the IMX8MM and if you follow the schematic should work fine.

Please check the chapter "6.5.2.1 Reset and Power-up Flow" that explains how to work the power on/off button and how that button activates the PMIC_ON_REQ to start the power on/off sequence.

Best Regards!

Yes you were right, I can turn OFF and ON the board.

But now if as per the below screenshot

Can we check the irq status in user space which was sent to SOC by FSM after button press?

If yes then how?

Hi @AMBh!

Thank you for contacting NXP Support!

We have a board with a power/off button you can download the schematic files to see the connections made for that purpose

Please download the design files by following the link:
