I was just wondering how do I write a program on my computer and then transfer the program to the quick start board so that I can run it.

Where are your system, on board? Are you booting from SDCard? Are you using NFS?
I would like to know how much you know about working on board.
You can use MFG tool (via USB connection) to download your program and run it.
