Hey,
we got a AC133UT1 Eink display and we like to get it up and running with the edpc on i.mx8ulp.
We allready worked with different grayscale EInk Displays and we were able to run these.
But with the colored one, we are not able to show a colored image. Currently it only shows images in mostly monochrome.
Since we can't get waveforms and can't generate a FW file for the EPDC driver for the display, we are currently working with the firmware files provided by nxp for other displays. For the grayscale epapers this works so far. The images look okay with all fw files, but with the color display the different waveforms show very different output images. Some waveforms even produce no output.
Is the correct waveform essential to achieve a basic colored image?
It seems that NXP also worked with the AC133UT1 on i.mx8ulp.
Is it possible to exchange experiences with the display?
Hi @csenatore,
Thank you for contacting NXP Support.
Yes, the correct waveform is essential to ensure the correct operation of the display.
Based on the i.MX Reference Manual section 6.4.5.7 Using a Default Waveform File and section 6.4.5.8 Using a Custom Waveform File (i.MX Linux Reference Manual (nxp.com)), the correct waveform is essential to ensure the correct display operation avoiding the ghosting artifacts and low color quality.
To use a custom waveform file, you will need to share the .wbf file provided by the manufacturer. Then, we will help you with the conversion to .fw file.
