Hi community,

Our patner have a question about i.MX6DQ IPU.
Please see page 2732 in IMX6DQRM Rev.2.
It says "Unpacking and companding capabilities are provided for up to two streams (either through same or different interfaces), while the other ones are treated as generic data."
Then, can we use this function when input data as "generic data" (when CSIx_SENS_DATA_FORMAT = 011b)?

Hi Yuri,

I found the packing (companding) function in chapter 37.4.3.7 and Table 37-17 in IMX6DQRM Rev.3.

Bayer and Generic input data seem to be able to compand also according to this section, is this wrong?

Hi,

Basically, data unpacking means that format of data is known (say, R8G8B8).

For generic data, format is not predefined. The Table 37-17 states that generic

are treated just as bytes or 16-bit words, based on port size.

Regards,

Yuri.
