Hello,

I made a imx8mp board which connected two max9286 camera deserial chips like imx8qm reference design.

Because i found imx8mp has two mipi csi2 interfaces and each has 4 vitual lanes as below picture description.

But i hasn't found any max9286 drivers and dts configuraton in linux kernel source by now.

Can anyone confirm if imx8mp can connect with 2 max9286 chips by csi2 virtual channel to realize 8 cameras usage ?

And if it is feasible how to realize ?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @taotaowang!

Thank you for contacting NXP Support!

The CSI features of the iMX8MP are:

• For single Camera, MIPI CSI 1 can support up to 400/500 MHz pixel clock in the

Nominal/Overdrive mode.

• For single Camera, MIPI CSI 2 can support up to 277 MHz pixel clock.

• For dual Camera, both MIPI CSI can support up to 266 MHz pixel clock

The driver documentation is the next:

Hi, Chavira

Thanks for your response.

Would you please confirm that IMX8MP can connect 2 MAX9286 chips by the two MIPI CSI2 interfaces?

Can eight 1280*720 cameras solution  work for IMX8MP like IMX8QM reference design?

I found some previous posts described that IMX8MP can't support virtual channels.

If IMX8MP can't support virtual channels, the eight 720p cameras solution will not work, is it?
