Our actual design uses 2 x DDR3 chips (MT41K256M16TW-107) for a total of 1 GBytes.

We need to double the memory size. Is it possible to use 2 x DDR3 chips of 1GBytes?

Hi Rene

chips can be used if complying with row/col requirements

given in MMDCx_MDCTL description in sect.44.12.1 MMDC Core Control Register

(MMDCx_MDCTL) i.MX6DQ Reference Manual

Hi Igor,

I try to help one of my customer and I have little knowledge on the i.MX6Dual.

Can you be more specific if they can replace their actual 2 x DDR3 IC MT41K256M16TW-107 by 2 x MT41K512M16? With the two memory chips, the bus width is 32bits.

Best Regards,

Rene
