Can I leave RESETN of i.MX28 floating?

Hello all,

We are designing a board using i.MX280 and there is a question we'd like to ask.

There is a description that RESETN does not need external pull up on the page 11, IMX28CEC.

The question is, as mentioned as a title, can I leave the pin floating without a capacitor?

Or should I place a capacitor to the RESETN pin?

Usually, when we design a circuit, we place a capacitor to a reset pin, so floating reset pin looks weird.

Hi Hikaru

yes one can leave the pin floating without a capacitor,

no any external connection of this pin is required if not used.

Floating reset pin will not cause problems since it resets the chip if it

is low for more than 100ms, it has internal pull-up and chip reset is provided

by other signals (PSWITCH or connection to VDD5V).
