Hi Experts,

The boot procedure for the HDMI display in Solo Lite EVK - Android 5.1.1.2 is missing in the attached Quick start Guide provided by the freescale. The boot args are not clearly mentioned in the Android BSP document.

But it  only contains the procedure for

5.4 Booting with single display: LCD display

Without right procedure am not able to bootup the Solo Lite EVK with HDMI display.

Hi gusarambula,

I already tried the below steps for Android 5.1.1.2 IMX6 SL but it doesn't works. It would be really great if I could hear from the Freescale Engineers who already did this..

The i.MX6SL EVK Quick Start Guide has some information on how to setup the HDMI display in Android (link below).

http://cache.nxp.com/files/32bit/doc/quick_start_guide/IMX6SL_EVK_QSG.pdf

It basically listed the following boot arguments

setenv bootargs console=ttymxc0,115200 init=/initandroidboot.console=ttymxc0 panel=hdmisaveenvreset

There is also a thread that may be more current, please also give it a try:

> set bootargs 'console=ttymxc0,115200 init=/init anddroidboot.console=ttymxc0 panel=hdmi'

>save

>run bootcmd

Hi joanxie,

Hello Lyf Sci,

I just would like to update this thread. There is no support for Android HDMI on the i.MX6SL EVK. I'm sorry for the contradicting information found in some sources.

Hello lyf sci,

True, you were referring to the i.MX6SL EVK, my mistake.

Hello lyf sci,

I would recommend making sure that you have the Android Quick Start Guide Rev. L5.1.1_2.1.0-ga, which do cover booting with HDMI display on section 3.4.2. with the corresponding boot arguments.

Hi gusarambula,

Thanks for the response.

I am using the same

Android Quick Start Guide Rev. L5.1.1_2.1.0-ga

as you pointed and had attached in the 1st post.

The section you provided refers to the boot procedure for

i.MX 6Quad/6DualLite SABRE-SD Board and Platform

whereas I am asking for

i.MX 6 SoloLite EVK Board

whose other procedures are covered in Section 5.

Have you tried the bootargs of Section 3.4.2 in SoloLite EVK for demo images of L5.1.1_2.1.0-ga. and able to successfully boot it.

Regards,

Lyf
