Board Support Package, OS and programmability questions

Hello,

We are in development of two gateway solutions for our companies. A base level gateway which has an i.MXRT processor and an advanced gateway which has an i.MX8DX processor. Can you please answer the following questions regarding software:

1. Would we be expected to roll out our own board support package for these processors? For example, can the higher performance gateway (i.MX8DX) run RT Linux and, if so, are we expected to create the kernel config file, etc.?
2. Programmability. What compilers and versions of those compilers will be available?
