Blowing fuses with kernel OCOTP driver without i.MX6 reset?

Suppose I'm blowing some fuses, for example this one:
SRK_LOCK (0x400[14]): Lock for SRK_HASH[255:0] fuses
from user-space, by writingathe right binary data to:
/sys/bus/nvmem/devices/imx-ocotp0/nvmem

Then is this immediately effective without resetting the i.MX6ULL?
Or do I need a reset?
If yes, what kind of reset is needed?

I understand a reset is needed to make the On-Chip OTP Controller (OCOTP)
properly read "the new fuse status" but I wonder if it is needed
to effectuate the blown fuse in anyway.
