Hi all,

Are there any recommended oscillator or operability confirmed oscillator for i.MX6 ?

My customer will use oscillator for 24MHz clock of i.MX6SL.

I read following threads but I could only get information on frequency deviation without the recommended circuit diagram.

https://community.nxp.com/message/594692

https://community.nxp.com/message/411963

https://community.nxp.com/message/431129

https://community.nxp.com/message/458924

Furthermore, this EB is mentioned only for crystal.

Please someone share the information about recommended oscillator or operability confirmed oscillator for i.MX6.

Hi Ko-hey

>Could you give us an opinion for it ?

I think Your considerations are correct. Sorry I have no other suggestion.

I think customer can add to this device level converter or try to find other device

with appropriate characteristics.

Best regards
igor

Hi Ko-hey

one can try oscillator used in i.MX6UL EVK :

Buy NZ2520SH-24MHZ ERG3199A, Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co., Ltd. (NDK), ED Inventory

Hi igorpadykov,

Thank you for reply.

Where is it in i.MX6UL EVK ? I can't find it in following schematic.

hi, igorpadykov

Thank you for reply.

I understand EVK has 24MHz oscillator but I think it's not match for DC parameters of XTALI in i.MX6.

According to the datasheet of i.MX6, the XTALI high-level DC input voltage is from 0.8 x NVCC_PLL to NVCC_PLL V.

Furthermore, the nominal default setting as 1.1 V.

As a result, the XTALI high-level DC input voltage is from 0.88 to 1.1 V.

On the other hand, the specification of the device is as below..

Supply Voltage [VCC] (V)

+1.8 to +3.3 (*1)

VOL Max. / VOH Min. (V)

0.1 VCC / 0.9 VCC

0.2 VCC / 0.8 VCC

https://www.ndk.com/en/products/search/clock/1190899_1433.html

Even if user select minimum supply voltage (Voh Min is 1.62 V), I think that it doesn't match the specification for i.MX6 XTALI.

Could you give us an opinion for it ?
