Hi There,

I am designing a custom board using MX8QM.
The evaluation board uses 32Gbit memory.

MCIMX8QM-CPU MEK Platform - i.MX 8QM CPU CARD
LPDDR4 SDRAM:MT53E768M32D4DT-053 AIT:E
(dual-channel, dual-rank, 32-bit devices)

The 24Gb product is for specific applications and the distribution volume is low, so we are planning to change the parts.
We plan to use dual-channel, single-rank, 32-bit devices.
I believe that the circuit can be configured by simply removing CS1.
Are there any restrictions when using a single rank device?

The adopted chip is “MT53E512M32D1ZW-046BAAT:B”.

Best regards

Hi Joanxie,

Thank you for the immediate reply.

We use MX8QM (Quad Max).
Do you have any information on MX8QM (Quad Max)?

I would also appreciate any advice regarding single rank connections!

if you use single rank, just use CKE0, CS0. for RPA settings, you can refer to the enclosed file I sent to you

Hi Joanxie,

Thank you for your advice !

As you pointed out, in addition to CS1, CKE1 is also unnecessary.
It seems that terminal processing of ZQ1 will no longer be necessary.
Single rank uses only CS0, CKE1, and ZQ0.

Additionally, RPA has a cell that selects the SoC.
The following items can be selected.

・MX8 QuadXPlus and DualXPlus
・MX8 DualX

Which is the correct choice for MX8QM (Quad Max) ?
