The behaviour you observe is the possible effect of the i.MX6UL silicon errata ERR009454 and ERR009455 that are present in the current Rev.1.0 silicon, refer to the i.MX6UL Chip Errata document for more information. Both these errata are scheduled to be fixed in the next Rev.1.1 silicon. Until then, use the i.MX6UL EVK board design as a reference. It contains the power managemet circuit and the MX6_POR_B signal, driven by the SW2102 button (refer to the board schematic), that allows to correctly reset the system and avoid the effect of the ERR009454 and ERR009455 silicon errata.

Have a great day,
Artur

We test short the pad 3 to pad 7 of J1705.

It gets reset.

And we short the pad 3 to pad 7 and hold, then release the cpu is also hold and reboot till release.

The behavior is correct.

BTW, 6UL evk's hardware desing will make power down when doing the reset. It gives the i.MX6UL a clean initial status. Good for an embedded system.

Please follow the design,
