Dear all,

By our system, the voltage is applied into Pin E9 USB_OTG_VBUS by the outside during power-up sequence of i.MX6DL.
The moment current is 64mA.
Afterwards, 10mA flows during 62msec.

Does this give damage in i.MX6DL?
may i.MX6DL be broken by this?

Best Regards,
Yuuki

Hi Yuuki

it does not conflict to data sheet, if you wish to

comply with the USB OTG specification, one should follow its requirements.

Still, hardware endures and works fine in case when USB_OTG_VBUS

is powered at any time.

Hi Yuuki

according to sect.4.2.1 Power-Up Sequence i.MX6SDL Datasheet:

USB_OTG_VBUS and USB_H1_VBUS are not part of the power supply
sequence and may be powered at any time.

http://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/IMX6SDLCEC.pdf

So this will not damage i.MX6DL.

Dear Igor-san,

Thank you for your quick quick response.

I found the following explanation in Hardware Development Guide.
I think that it conflicts to the explanation of the data sheet.

How should I understand it?

<Hardware Development Guide>
1. USB OTG
To comply with the USB OTG specification, the VBUS supply on the OTG connector should default to off when the boards power up.

Yuuki
