I would like to have some feedback on this. I am making a small PCB with an ADV7180 (64 pins version) and would like to know if need P0..P7 or P8..P15 connected to the board.
I just would like to use v4l to capture snapshots from the composite video.
No need for streaming, the target is intended to run headless.
Looking for some code examples , and other usefull information to get this working.
I am running kernel 3.13.0 with DT support..

As far as I understand ADV7180 datasheet, 8-bit mode uses P[15..8] to output YCrCb[7..0]. So you need to connect these pins to the module.
Of course this does not say whether you'll find the proper SW support for that connection in linux driver.

The smaller versions only have P0..P7 , i assume it can be set by setting some of the registers. Will check the DS , anyway , i need the 64 pin version working first... , Regards Johan
