Hello,

We have a number of EVKs and boards that are loaded with the A0 version of the chip, the new images targeting the A2 version are not backwards compatible and do not boot when flashed on A0 chips.

Can you please provide some guidance on how to modify images targeting the A2 chips to run on the A0 chips.

Thank you.

Best regards.

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products,

Please excuse the trouble that it may cause but you have to rework the boards with the new version of the chip, as you can see in LF6.1.36 Release Notes:

i.MX reference boards
• i.MX 9 Series
– i.MX 93 EVK board (11x11 A1 silicon)
– i.MX 93 9x9 QSB board (9x9 A1 silicon)
– i.MX 91P EVK board
– i.MX 91P 9x9 QSB board
• i.MX 8 Series
– i.MX 8ULP EVK Board (15x15 A2 ES0 and 9x9 A2 ES0)
– i.MX 8M Plus EVK Board

Regards

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification.

Is there any way that NXP could update or replace the EVKs that we purchased directly from NXP since these boards are no longer viable.

Best regards.

Hi,

No, we don't offer those services, you'd need to outsource to perform the operation with an own purchased stock of A2 8ULPs.

Thank you,
