We are deciding whether to design with a 32 bit bus or go to 64. If we use i.MX 6Q, would there be much of a bottle neck when accessing
memory configured as 32bit? We are trying to avoid the hassles that come with laying out a 64 bit bus, plus saving board space and BOM costs. Memory space is not an issue.

Hello,Joseph,
Since memory space is not an issue, you can use 32bit DDR3 or LPDDR2 on your i.mx6Q design. but please connect your DDR3 or LPDDR2 chips on Low-32bit bus on CPU side.
