Hi,
Curious if someone figured out how to achieve a 2-way workflow between the NXP pins-tool and Altium Designer?
i.e.
- build up config in pins tool, export to CSV report or device tree file
- script to update the netlist / pin-swap table in altium
and vice versa
- pin-swap during layout in altium
- export back to pins-tool to check if it's valid
I could see that one way to do it would be to make use of Altium's .harness files which is basically just a plain text file. Another way would be to just to straight on the pin-numbers of the imx symbol itself and swap there (at the drawback of getting a messy schematic)
Thoughts?
related:
- it would be nice if the pins-tool could export a separate list or property of what pins are actually pin-swappable!
my proposal of improved workflow can be used with both altium and cadence.
please help get some team member from the pins tool application to join this discussion
Our design use the Cadence not the Altium Designer, we have the pin tool you can refer to https://www.nxp.com/design/designs/config-tools-for-i-mx-applications-processors:CONFIG-TOOLS-IMX
