In all the technical and marketing documentation about i.MX8X is shown that the maximum display resolution that you can drive is 1920x1080.
We had a request to connect a 1920x1200 LVDS display (http://www.ampire.com.tw/en/p1-product-detail.asp ) to the i.MX8X and just setting up properly the DT everything worked Ok.
Can you confirm that 1920x1200 displays are supported by i.MX8X?
In affirmative case; does it make sense to update the documentation?

for imx8qxp, The Display controller subsystem supports two Display Controllers (DC0 and DC1).
each DC can support up to:
Two LVDS interfaces supporting- 1080p@60 on a single interface- 4k@30 when aggregating the two interfaces
