hi
I tested the reset button on the imx8mp-evk.,software:linux5.4.70;I found that after using the poweroff command or pressing the ONOFF button for 5 seconds to shut down the device, it was impossible to wake it up by pressing the RESET button. I believe the RESET button is a way to force a restart. Could there be a method where the RESET button can be used to wake up the device even when it is in the powered-off state?
Hi
The RESET button (SW1702) on the i.MX8MP EVK resets all power rails except VDD_SNVS, which remains active. When the board is ON, pressing RESET will force a full system reset, including the PMIC and processor. However, when the board is powered off (via or long press of ONOFF), pressing RESET does not wake the board. This is expected behavior.
In power-off state, only the SNVS domain remains powered.
The RESET button does not trigger a wake event to the PMIC or SNVS logic.
Wake-up from SNVS requires a dedicated wake source, such as:
ONOFF button / RTC alarm /External GPIO interrupt (if configured)
