Updating MCXW716C NBU over SWD on a custom board – feasibility & recommended workflow

hello, 

On our custom board the MCXW716C is accessible only through the 10-pin SWD header (SWDIO/SWCLK/nRESET).
Can we update the NBU (radio core firmware) over SWD, or is a UART/USB boot-loader interface mandatory?
If SWD updates are supported, please point me to the recommended tool or application note.

Hope you are doing well.

You could follow the method described in AN14397 - Programming the MCXW71 Flash for Application and Radio Firmware via Serial Wire Debug Duri.... This method merges the fuse programming, burning of CM33, and NBU firmware operations to produce a single binary file, and downloads the merged binary file only once through the Serial Wire Debug (SWD).
