We have ptp4l client running on the ls1046 processor, and wanted to know the following :

1. Does it support G.8275.2 profile configuration ?

2. Our LS1046 is behind a PTP unaware node, in such a way, that PTP GM is connected to this PTP unaware node, and this node is then connected to the Ls1046 which has ptp4l running. Will this config work?

3. Since this profile is created for PTP unaware nodes in between, so will it handle the irregularity in the time delay intervals of the packet ?

  1. It supports G.8275.2 profile configuration.

 

  1. If the PTP unaware node can forward PTP packets, this config will work. If necessary, you should set neighborThreshold to a bigger value.

 

  1. If the PTP unaware node is not aware of PTP, I don't think it can handle the irregularity.
