QN9080: unable to program the device.

Hello,

In our company we have designed 2 boards that are both using the QN9080-001-M17AZ Bluetooth Module. We have followed the design rules and we are making use of the SWDIO, SWCLK, RESETN and ISP pins with the correct configuration in terms of pins and pull-up/pull-down resistors. However, in neither of these boards are we able to successfully connect to the QN9080 and program it. The MCU_Xpresso is giving an error that the device is not discoverable.
Is there something we did not take into account? According to the datasheets, there is not anything wrong. Any help is appreciated

Hi,

What is your programmer? Jlink? Check the module's voltage and XTAL. Is the voltage 3.3V? Does the crystal work normally?

Have a great day,
TIC

We are using the PEMicro debugging interface. We eventually found 2 issues on some of our boards:

  • Some pins were not soldered correctly, probably to wrong mask used by the PCB manufacturer.
  • The RESETN port should not be connected to the debugger, since it is controlled by the SWDIO port as well.
