Hi,

I'm wondering if the Out1 pin gets short with Out2 pin by accident, whether the chip will be damaged, since I found some failure chips after soldering the wireless charging Tx coil to the PTH1 and PTH2. Schematic attached.

Hi,

Yes, if OUT1 gets in short with OUT2, the chip will be damaged, reason is because the NXQ1TXH5 have an internal full bridge power stage connected between VDD, GND, OUT1 and OUT2.

By shorting OUT1 and OUT2, the full bridge will loose functionality and cause malfunction to the device. To find the details about the internal full bridge, please check Figure 4 on page 11 of the device short datasheet: https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/NXQ1TXH5_SDS.pdf

Regards,

Jose
