We have interested the JN5179 (ZigBee and IEEE802.15.4 Wireless Microcontroller with 512 kB Flash, 32 kB RAM), but we don't know detail about API and SDK for Thread.

We understood that NXP has the following development kits.

- JN517x-DK005: JN517x Development Kit with NFC Commissioning

- JN517x-XK030: Generic Node Expansion Kit

- JN517x-XK040: Lighting/Sensor Node Expansion Kit

- OM15021: JN5179 USB Dongle

We will use the i.MX6 application processor, then we want to know the following items.

1. Which documents describe the API for host processor?

2. We cannot find out URL to download the SDK or binary code if NXP cannot provide SDK, please let us know it.

3. Which documents describe the specification of firmware to support coordinator?

We try to find out above, but we cannot find out appropriate information in home page, because the home page has a lot of information.

Please reply as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Takashima

Hi Isao,

Are you wanting to use the JN5179 device as a boarder router?

If this is the case, we don't have sufficient memory to support the boarder router or the router eligible device.

The only supported thread node for the JN5179 is the end device. To interact with a Thread node you have to send CoAP messages to toggle lights etc. There is documentation on CoAP and within the software there are devices that send CoAP packets.

There is also a FireFox CoAP plugin to send CoAP messages via the internet browser.

Best Regards,

Mario
