Dose W8997 supports the SDIO 3.0 CMD11 to switch from 3.3V signaling to 1.8V signaling?

if yes, in sdio3.0 mode, Is it mandatory to supply 1.8v to W8997 VDDIO? or i can select supply 3.3v to W8997 VDDIO in sdio3.0 mode?

Dear @changbaoma ,

Let me join the disscussion.

--------------------------------------------------

>>Dose W8997 supports the SDIO 3.0 CMD11 to switch from 3.3V signaling to 1.8V signaling?

No, it doesn't.

SDIO card doesn't support switch IO voltage, but SD card(mem card) supports it.

>>if yes, in sdio3.0 mode, Is it mandatory to supply 1.8v to W8997 VDDIO?

For your hardware design:

--Host side

Host SDIO interface should be applied 1.8V IO if you want to use SDIO 3.0.

--WiFi chip side

(1) VIO_SD should be supplied 1.8V.

VIO_SD is only for SDIO signals

(2) VDDIO

VDDIO is for the levle of other signals.

>>or i can select supply 3.3v to W8997 VDDIO in sdio3.0 mode?

yes, you can.

VDDIO determines IO voltage, like PCM/UART/other single-end signals lines except for SDIO lines

Hope above infromation is helpful for you.

Have a good day!

weidong
