Hello NXP

I am doing WLAN RF Test with reference to UM11490 but I got a problem for VHT Test. ( 5GHz, 80MHz

,MCS9)

I inputted the command as follows to measure the waveform, but an error occurs.

-Host Board: MCIMX8M-EVK

-Wifi module: 88W8997 (Laird module)

-OS: imx-android-11.0.0_2.4.0

- Driver and Firmware version: SD8997----16.92.10.p219.3-MM5X16266-GPL-(FP92)

echo "rf_test_mode=1" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "tx_antenna=3" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "rx_antenna=3" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "band=1" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "bw=4" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "channel=36" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "tx_power=10 2 2" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

-echo "tx_frame=1 120 0xAAA 0x100 1 20 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 05:43:3f:c4:51" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config

[ 203.419432] RF test mode cmd error

=======================================================================

When I inputted [echo "tx_continuous=1 1 0xAAA 0 0 120" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config] for continuous wave , I could see waveform. but  [echo "tx_continuous=0 1 0xAAA 0 0 120" >> /proc/mwlan/adapter0/config] was also error.

Please let me know if there is an fault in the command I inputted.

Thank you.

Hello @waynejeong

UM11490 have been uploaded at Dec 14, 2021. tx data rate table have been changed. You could download newest version and refer table 3 to set data rate. On my side, RF test setup is find.

Best Regards

Shaun

Hello shaun_wu

Thank you for your kindly support.

I tested it by referring to the newly updated document today.

Although I did not test all channels and all bandwidth, it seems to me, it works fine.

I saw waveform 5GHz, 80MHz, MCS9 modulation with spectrum analyzer.

I will test all channel and all bandwidth. If I get another problem, I will report it.

thank you.

Hello shaun_wu

Thank you for feedback.

I already tried to use labtool. but it has an issue for SDIO-UART interface.

I posted for labtool issue before and I got feedback from you.

https://community.nxp.com/t5/Wireless-Connectivity/88W8997-mfgbridge-tool-issue-for-SDIO-UART-interf...

My customer has plan to get RF certification for WLAN on next month. Please let me know how I can solve this issue.

Hello @waynejeong

1. For SDIO-WiFi Labtool issues, we do fount it not work on i.mx platform and internally reported this issues. But it works on Ubuntu laptop. So, if possible, you can do certification on Ubuntu laptop.

2. I'll internally report UM11490 issue and before get the feedback from internal expert, I'll keep update.

Best Regards

Shaun
