Hi,

Transistor wants to use DC-DC converter to run a fever.

May it supply 1.2V to VDD directly using DC-DC converter without using external NPN ballast transistor(BCTRL)?

Please give me ISSUE of that case.

Best regards,

soichi yamamoto

Dear Soichi,

Unfortunately, using a transistor is a must.

Please, also take a look at this newly published Application Note - http://cache.freescale.com/files/32bit/doc/app_note/AN4807.pdf?fsrch=1&WT_TYPE=Application%20Notes&W....

Regards, Naoum Gitnik.

That's a nice app note.  I'm surprised that it doesn't show the A5 at its full capabilitiy of 500 MHz as opposed to the listed 399 MHz.

Are there any issues/concerns with running the A5 at 500 MHz?

Thanks ,Chris
