Low-power wearable/IoT applications are becoming more and more popular. In this session, we will go over some of the key aspects when considering the system-level power management solution for these application, pros and cons when choosing different topologies (for example, DC/DC regulator vs. LDO), overall system level power optimization, and key components selection consideration, etc.
Functional safety awareness level one. Introduction to functional safety, what it is, why and how it is implemented. This overview session provides the building blocks for the other deep dive technical sessions within the track and ensures that all participates understand the language and context used within functional safety discussions. It will also introduce how the NXP process with BCAM7 fits with ISO 26262 and the new safety school that will be launched in 2018.
At NXP, our broad portfolio of analog, interface and NFC solutions means that we are able to offer complete solutions around the core. With a range of options that attach to any core, our product expertise in areas such as NFC, power management, networking and interfaces is deep-rooted.
In automotive applications, it is typical to have a central processing unit that interfaces with other peripheral devices, other sub-systems and the user. Often, the signals from these interconnects may be incompatible on both ends. Therefore, various semiconductor devices such as analog switches, voltage level translators, and GPIO expanders are often used to bridge between the interconnects on the board. Also, LED Controllers, LCD Drivers and Real Time Clocks are used for interfacing between the system and user. In this session, we will explore the application of these analog and interface devices from NXP and discuss their applications in automotive applications.
Completing a production-ready smart charging or resonant converter design can be tricky, tedious, and even challenging for many engineers. 1. Purpose of this training is to discuss design of smart charging: Introduce smart power design tools to address design challenges in order to improve conversion. 2. Resonant converters: Highlight key elements a designer needs to understand in order to effectively design a resonant converter. An online based resonant converter design tool is introduced to further help resonant converter design.
Join Rob Diebold and Mark Melone from NuCurrent to learn about the technical landscape of wireless charging along with practical guidance on how to move it from concept into production. This session will provide an overview of wireless charging technologies with an emphasis on charging solutions that utilize Qi and NFC Direct Charging. Several demonstrations that combine NXP and NuCurrent technologies will be provided along with a Q&A session with subject matter experts.
