Hi,
We need to connect 256MB x16 NOR Flash to T4240 IFC.
IC - S70GL02GS
Here is my configuration
ADM MODE 0, CSOR0[ADM_SHFT]=4
IFC_A[20:30] -> A[10:0]
IFC_AD[0:15] -> latch -> A[26:11]
IFC_AD[0:15] <-> DQ[15:0]
Is it OK?
Flash VIO = 1.8V
Flash VCC = 3.3V
We have four S70GL02GS devices on IFC.
Do we need a buffer on IFC_AD[0:15]?
Regards,
Suresh
I do not see so much unmultiplexed address lines IFC_A in device pinout. I see only IFC_A[26:31]
Please refer T4240 device datasheet, Table 1 for more information.
Voltage conversion buffer is not necessary, if your flash I/O voltage is the same as IFC voltage (OVDD).
However, please also keep in mind total capacitance of all pins connected to AD bus and their effect to IFC timings.
Then you place big amount of capacitance to output driver, its output timings are affected by RC-time, where R is effective output resistance of I/O driver, C is input capacitance. Placing extra capacitance causes extra delays at output signals, and may affect IFC bus timings and bus throughput.
Have a great day,
Alexander
