Is the a single core QorlQ processor with the same number of transistors as a multicore processor? Other than statically allocated cores of a multicore, such a heterogeneous single core processor would field flexible and dynamically allocated regions in the processor that are able to independently perform computing tasks as a multicore does (concept is partially implemented by certain GPUs, I suppose), i.e. such regions would not be statically bounded like those of the current QorlQ processors. That way only really the transistors required would be switched on and the memory usage would be more optimally, I suppose.
Hi,
This is good concept. I am not aware of that. I think road map related information may be not public.
