There is a manual for setting up a Windows based floating license server: License Manager Installers|NXP  I could not find one for Windows servers. Is there such a manual available? Or even a sheet of command for operating the server software? I am trying to fix issues on a server that has been running for years and might need to reinstall the license server software.

Linux Hosted Freescale License Manager Installation

  1. Download the license manager installer from http://www.nxp.com/products/software-and-tools/software-development-tools/codewarrior-development-to...

  1. Navigate to the download location via a terminal window and run command: chmod 777 FSLFlexLMinstall.bin.

  1. Run command ./FSLFlexLMinstall.bin

  1. Select “Next” to begin.

  1. Select installation location and click “Next”. Default is C:\FSL_FlexLM

  1. The dialog for License Manager Service is now displayed.

  1. If you have already received your license from Freescale, you have the option to allow the installer to create a script to begin the license service for you. This is recommended.  Select the “Create Startup Script” checkbox.  NOTE: In some instances, the dialog box will appear to be in a disabled state.  If this happens, uncheck the “Create Startup Script” checkbox and then recheck.  The dialog box will now be enabled.

  1. Select the “Choose…” button to navigate to the location of your license file. You will be presented with the “Choose a File” dialog.  Navigate to the license file location and click “Open”.

  1. The installer creates a copy of your license file and will place it in the license manager installation directory. The original license file will remain in its current location and can be retrieved should the license manager be accidentally removed or uninstalled.  Click “OK” on the License File Copy notification dialog.
  2. The installer will now display the Pre-installation Summary. You may scroll through the summary to ensure the correct options have been chosen before you continue.  If you are satisfied that the information is correct, click “Install”.  Otherwise, click “Previous” to return to prior screens to make changes.

  3. Once the installation has completed, you will see the location of the license manager start up script. Note the location and then click “Done”.
  4. Navigate to the location noted above to find the license manager start_service.sh script.
  5. Run command ./start_service.sh
