Hello,

I am developing a device with MAG3110 magnetometer. It will be used in an area with strong magnetic flux.

I wondered whether it will shorten the life of the MAG3110 or should I expect it to work fine for the normal life of the MAG3110? (Which is how long?)

Thanks

Hello Ariel,

The sensor would not be damaged as long as you don't exceed the maximum magnetic field it can support (100,000uT). Since the life spam of the device would depend on the customer application, we do not have an estimate of life.

I highly recommend you to take a look at the following application note, which describes how to calibrate the MAG3110 in the presence of hard and soft iron interference:

Hope it helps!

Josh
