Hi there,

I am an Industrial design student working on my final 4th year project.

I am looking for a range sensor to detect vehicles approaching from a 100 meters.

The sensor will be integrated into a product that fits on a bicycle handle bar.

So need to be compact and run on low voltage. The intention is to use a small recharge lithium 5v battery.

I am not an electronics expert, but will try programming the functions using Arduino and snippets of code from

various sources. The sensor will trigger a light at three stages of the vehicles distance from the bike.

Any thoughts on a sensor that could work?

Hi Leon,

NXP does have one radar sensor solution (MC33MR2001) that can work for this project, but, unfortunately, since these 77GHz radar devices are made for a small market, the information and devices are not available for everyone, and the only way to get documentation and place an order for these devices is through NXP/Distributor Sales Representative or NXP/Distributor FAE.

I apologize for the problems this may cause.

Have a great day,
Jose
