The pressure sensor model MPXM2010GS is used inside the instrument. It monitors the gas path pressure which is less than 10Kpa. Now, the instrument with this sensor is placed under an environmental pressure of 0.4MPa. Could you please tell me if the MPXM2010GS pressure sensor can operate normally under this 0.4MPa environmental pressure?

Dear Wbs945,

please refer to the MPX2010 Series datasheet. The MPXM2010GS can withstand differential pressure P1>P2 up to 75kPa. Higher than this differential pressure, will definitely destroy the sensor.

If you are asking if the MPXM2010GS can withstand 400kPa with the differential pressure been up to 10kPa (or up to 75kPa), then yes, this package can withstand 400kPa. Please refer to the MPX2202 datasheet. In the same MPAK package is delivered MPXM2202GS, which can withstand differential pressure P1>P2 up to 400kPa.
