Hey I read your paper on RUL fo Lead Acid Batteries, amazing work. I need to contact you regarding it, it would be of great help!
Hello Rimi,
The MM9Z1_638 battery monitoring sensor has the main features of sensing current, voltage, and temperature. We have two Reference Designs for 12V Lead-acid Battery with LIN or CAN interface using this device that we can recommend to check:
Reference design - MM9Z1_638, 12V Lead-acid Battery,LIN|NXP
12V Lead-acid Battery Sensor (BMS) with CAN|NXP
You will find the necessary documentation as well on those links. I hope this can be helpful.
Best Regards,
Paulina
Hello Paulina,
Thanks so much for your valuable response...While going through your references I found another nxp product which is also using this MM9Z1_638 battery monitoring sensor ..can you please help me to know which one can I use for my requirement. Links are as below:
OR
12V Lead-acid Battery Sensor (BMS) with CAN|NXP
Also please recommend the required device which I can use to measured data from the sensor in some file format.
Regards
Rimi
Hello Rimi,
The KIT9Z1J638EVM is a hardware tool for evaluation and development for the MM9Z1J638 battery sensor. Meanwhile, the RD9Z1-638-12V-C: 12V Lead-acid Battery Sensor (BMS) with CAN is a reference design features the MM9Z1J638 focused on 12V lead-acid battery applications. This one also has embedded an S12Z MCU obtains those parameters and calculates the battery State-ofCharge (SOC), State-of-Health (SOH) and State-of-Function (SOF).
My recommendation is to use the RD9Z1-638-12V-C as per it is focused on the battery type that you required. I truly recommend checking the User's Guide as per it has all the information to getting started on this reference design.
I hope this information can be helpful.
Have a great day,
Paulina
Hello Rimi,
I apologise the delay. The RD9Z1-638-12V-C is a reference design is intended for use of ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT OR EVALUATION PURPOSES ONLY. Therefore, the usage P&E USB Multilink Universal and the other required equipment mentioned in the user guide are need it to use this reference design. We do not have any documentation that can explain the usage of this reference design with any kind of board.
Have a great day,
Paulina
Hi Paulina,
Thank you so much for your valuable suggestions. I went through the user
manual of RD9Z1-638-12V-C, and according to that manual I need the USB
Multilink and a PC (for the communication with the kit)as a part of system
configuration(Please refer the below image)
Can you please help me to understand, that can I use this without the PC
support (for communicating with MCU) rather by using some kind of
boards(Raspberry pi or Aurdino)by uploading the tested code on top of it?
If it is possible then what are the other components required for this
implementation?
Am asking this question because I want to use this in my car where I wont
have the PC support all the time.
*My aim is to get the measured value from RD9Z1-638-12V-C and compute some
other related data and upload the code to a board so that I can use the
system as one more electrical component in my car. Hope I am able to
explain the details properly.*
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks in advance.
