Hi,

I am exploring having FIPS and EMVco compliance in a single chip. I found SE050F2 has FIPS compliance and NFC interface as per ISO 1443. So curious to know how difficult to get the approval of EMVco on SE050F2?

Thanks,

Hitesh

Hi @hitesh_gambhava ,

The SE05x platform is not EMVCo certified and it would be quite some effort . Also the banking applets are so far not qualified on this platform. There is no plan to certify SE050/51 with EMVCo. If no I2C is needed then P71 JCOP4 could be a solution, this platform is EMVCo and FIPS certified. There only the platform is certified, so still an applet which implements the use case needs to be uploaded and then the whole package be FIPS-certified.

Hope that makes sense,

Have a great day,
Kan

Hi Ken,

This information is really helpful. Thanks!

Can the SMARTMx3 platform have the capability to use a host controller as well to connect some sensors on SPI and UART?

Hi @hitesh_gambhava ,

The SmartMX3 is just a host controller, do you mean to connect it with some sensors via SPI/UART? Please kindly clarify.

Have a great day,
Kan

Hi Kan,

I was under the impression that P71 JCOP4 is part of the SmartMX3 controller series. How can I get further information about P71 JCOP4, like its size/package and interface to communicate with a host controller, etc.?

Also, are there any charges/fees for the crypto library for EMVco or FIPS use cases?

Thanks,

Hitesh

Hi @hitesh_gambhava ,

The documents for P71 JCOP4 are under NDA, if you have not signed it with NXP yet , you may request it online, and then request them from the Secure File according to the following link:

https://www.nxp.com.cn/docs/en/user-guide/nxp-secure-access-rights-registration.pdf
