I am replacing the SE050 with A5000 on my schematic. The NXP documentation mentions the parts are pin-to-pin compatible.

However, the Pin Description table of the datasheets for the two parts differ when describing the RFU pins (originally used for ISO 7816 interface):

  • A5000 datasheet (Rev 1.2) recommends
    • pin 3 and 13 to VCC
    • pin 14 to VSS
    • pin 16 to VIN
  • SE050 datasheet (Rev 3.7) recommends
    • pin 3, 13, and 16 NC
    • pin 14 to VSS or VCC

Which one is correct? Ideally I'd like to NC as many pins as possible to simplify layout routing.

Hi @michaelh2 ,

Please following the SE050 datasheet (Rev 3.7) recommendation, and the data sheet of A5000 will be updated accordingly in the future.

Sorry for the confusion that has caused.

Have a great day,
Kan
