Wake the MCU from VLPR using a GPIO pin

Hello NXP team.

I am using the S32K144 microcontroller.

I want to wake up the MCU from VPLR using GPIO.

Do you have a ready example using RTD?

Hi @adem_marangoz,

VLPR is not a stop mode; it is a run mode. The MCU cannot transition from VLPR to RUN through a wake-up event.

Actually, I don't have good knowledge about the modes. I use NXP controllers which are considered new.
From what I understood, you cannot transition from VLPR to RUN mode, isn't that what you mean?
Another question: how can I make the controller enter VLPR mode and how can I make it exit from this mode?

In S3DS 3.6 install RTD 3.0.0, there is this example:

Power_Ip_Example_S32K144

You can add another power mode in the Power_Ip driver for VLPR:

Generate the code:

Use this function to change the MCU mode from RUN to VLPR and back:

Power_Ip_SetMode(&Power_Ip_aModeConfigPB[0]);
Power_Ip_SetMode(&Power_Ip_aModeConfigPB[1]);

The interface I presented for the S32K3xx MCUs, and the MCU I have is the S32K144.

The controller I am using is the S32K144, and the interface I am using is S32DS for ARM. The interface you suggested in your previous response was S32DS for the S32 platform. I want the correct settings for S32DS for ARM. I also use Processor Expert to configure the settings.

Hi @adem_marangoz,

S32 Design Studio (S32DS) v2.2 for ARM is compatible with SDK v3.0.0 (released February 28, 2019).

Please note that this is legacy software - is not recommended for new designs and we don't support it

However, SDK v3.0.0 includes an example demonstrating the transition to VLSP/VLSR and STOP low-power modes.

For current development on S32K144, use S32DS for S32 Platforms v3.6 and up-to-date RTD drivers version 3.0.0 - this what I showed in my last reply.
