Hello mates, I'm just getting started on a project with the S32K, so far, great uC.

Target is the S32K118, i;m not sure if I should get the pemicro or the segger J-link...

PEMicro pros:
Live view on S32DS (can't believe segger wont work)

Segger pro:
Student Version with most of the resources available (but probably will get a jlink base)
Cross use with many vendors (e.g: ST and Renesas)
Bigger community
A lot of tools from segger (like JScope)

Hello Mr Jiri,

do you know any limitation of the Jlink edu vs the base for the S32K?

Hi,

the only Segger limitation what I remember is, that Segger j-link performs device reset when you are attaching to running target.

I'm not familiar with the student version - Segger probably have described differences between educational and full version on their web page.

Hi,

unfortunately Segger under S32DS doesn't have such view (realtime view). But you can use external segger's tools - as you mentioned - for example j-scope, which can be run in parallel with your debug session.  So, from my point of view - Segger is winner!

Hope it helps.
