Hello,

there is not direct hardware support for Precision Timing Protocol, but as you can find in reference manual, there is  Software-programmable precise time-stamping of ingress and egress frames using IEEE 1588 timer.

Please check chapter 54 in S32K1xx reference manual.

thanks for the fast reply.

• But what about chapter 54.6.10 IEEE 1588 functions? Isn't shown a HW function block with a TSU?
• I would appreciate if you can share Information, what are the pros and cons of a SW solution compared to a HW solution?
  • Accuracy / CPU load /..

In my use-case the S32K148 shall be work as a Clock Master in gPTP Environment, synchronzied to GNSS derived pps Signal.
