S32K341 Power Connections Sanity Check

Hello, as hopefully the last of these question I wanted to make sure I had a schematic correct for the minimum capacitors + power connections needed to run a S32K341 MCU and program it through JTAG. It is below (though the header for a JTAG connector is not yet)

As a checklist I have:

5V and 1.5V supplied by two regulators. I see I can also use an NPN transistor on pin 7 to provide the 1.5V? But that is a bit unfamiliar to me so I feel as though I should not try it right now.

1.1V, 1.5V, 2.5V, HV_A/B, and VREFH all decoupled as per the values in

and then the JTAG pins picked out for a to be placed 20 or 10 pin connector for one of the recommended programmers.

From here I should be able to breakout any number of pins for external devices like temperature sensors and LEDs correct? Or is there anything that I am missing.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your interest in our products and for using our community.

Taking into account the Hardware Design Guidelines for S32K3xx Microcontrollers, the power system part for your schematic seems correct.

Please do not forget to include the clock circuitry and the debug & programing interface and also take a lock in the unused pins section.

Hope it helps you.

Have a nice day!

Hello and thank you,

By clock circuitry you mean the E/Xtal pins correct?

I was wondering a little about that too as well, I see in the hardware design guide that it wants a resistor and 2 capacitors but does this also apply to ceramic resonators that already have built-in capacitors? I don't really know how this would affect the formula given so I'm not sure if I should just leave it as is or try to approximate the capacitor values.

For reference this is the resonator I was looking at. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/murata-electronics/CSTNE16M0VH3C000R0/8747732

The Rs and load capacitors values are dependent on the specifications of the crystal and on the board capacitance. It is recommended the customer develops evaluation and characterization of the crystal on their PCB with the part manufacturer.
