Hello,

I have a question about the RTD drivers for S32k3.
Right now, we are using the latest RTD drivers aligned to AUTOSAR standard vR21-11 (v5.0.0).

Anyway, for compatibility reasons, we are thinking of downgrading to the RTD aligned with the AUTOSAR standard v4.4 (4.0.0 P24 should be the latest release If I'm not wrong).
My question is: what are NXP plans for those two versions of RTD drivers?
Are the RTD with AUTOSAR v4.4 to be considered obsolete and discontinued, or will they be updated and developed with further versions and bugfixes?
I am worried that by using the RTD w AUTOSAR v4.4 we will miss important bugfixes or features that would instead be implemented only in the latest RTD version aligned with AUTOSAR vR21-11.

Thanks.
Kind regards

Hi @strofald,

As of now, there are no official dates for ASR23-11. I apologize.

Best regards,

Hi @strofald,

Some changes from the ASR 4.4 to 21-11 are not backwards compatible, such as the ASR memory stack specifications. Support for Fls and Eep will be deprecated starting this year.

This can be read in the official AUTOSAR specification.

NXP provided the old Fls, Eep and Fee Drivers in parallel, especially in releases where we already reached RTM quality and continued to do so until 2024. Right now, the latest version to support Fls and Eep is indeed RTD 4.0.0 P24 for ASR4.4.

We strongly recommend migrating the software to any RTD supporting ASRR21-11; There is no official statement from the RTD team, but continuous support for ASR21-11 is expected, and eventually the migration to ASR23-11.

Best regards,
Julián

Thanks for the answer.

Is there any timeline that NXP has set for the release of the R23-11 RTD version?
I ask this because some of the Vector packages that we are forced to use require compatible MCAL modules aligned to AUTOSAR R23-11.

Thanks.
