According to the data sheet, the data retention time of Emulated EEPROM is 5 years. So, that means the security Keys will be vanished by 5 years?

Hi,

It seems like you use an old S32K1xx datasheet.

Please use the latest revision 13.

As you can see above, if the endurance is less than 10% of what is specified for the EEPROM backup / FlexRAM ratio, the retention of the records including the CSEc keys is 20 years.

Otherwise, the retention is only 5 years, however, as the footnote 4 states, it can be extended by the background maintenance operations that take place when the EEPROM state machine needs to move the records to another sector.

Please use the FlexNVM Endurance calculator.

The Estimated Flash Cycles counter increments when the whole EEPROM backup flash has undergone a complete erase cycle.
